2025 TREE TOUR SCHEDULE (GUIDED)
2025 Guided Tree Tours will be conducted in all four seasons.
Tours are conducted by Tree Naturalist Bill Gleason (known as "Tree Man" from a 2024 West Hartford Life article), Park Naturalist Doug Jackson, and Master Gardener Zack Vose.
Each tour is different - we explore different sections of the Arboretum and highlight specific, seasonal tree activity.

We explore the central portion of the Level II Westmoor Arboretum (over 130 species of trees) and learn the unique stories behind each species. What makes a Red Oak "red" and a White Oak "white"?

In addition to the trees in the central portion of the Arboretum, we venture into Westmoor Forest to visit our Paw Paw tree grove, the Mother Beech Tree, and the hard-to-find Tuliptree.

SUMMER TOUR III (522710C)
The focus of the third Summer Tree Tour is the Arboretum's extensive collection of conifers. Come learn about the most common pine in the world, the most common pine in the U.S., and the most common pine of the Northeast. Plus Cedar-of-Lebanon, Giant Sequoia, and 3 "Evergreens" that drop their leaves every year.

WHERE TO MEET, WEATHER
We conduct the tours regardless of the weather EXCEPT in the case of drenching rain. The rain date for each tour is the next day (Sunday) at the same time. If the tour takes place on Sunday OR entire weekend is rained out - please re-register for the next available tour.
Meet at "THE WAGON" by the central parking area of Westmoor Park.
