2025 TREE TOUR SCHEDULE (GUIDED)
2025 Guided Tree Tours will be conducted in all four seasons. They begin on March 8.
Tours are conducted by Tree Naturalist Bill Gleason (known as "Tree Man" from a 2024 West Hartford Life article), Park Naturalist Doug Jackson, and Master Gardener Zack Vose.
Each tour is different - we explore different sections of the Arboretum and highlight specific, seasonal tree activity.

The light-green hue of the emerging and awakening forest is one of the first heralds of Spring. Learn how it's often tree flowers and flower buds, not leaves, that initiate the timeless rituals of Spring.

Flower or Fruit? We're all used to Spring pickup chores, but what exactly are those trees sharing with us? For some it's flowers, for others it's fruit (maple-seed helicopters). What are the trees doing? (NOTE: No rain date)

The Summer forest emerges. In a surprising short time, the energy-intensive business of flowering passes and the trees prepare for increased daily light and chores through late Spring and Summer. The "late blooming trees" are still active.

WHERE TO MEET, WEATHER
We conduct the tours regardless of the weather EXCEPT in the case of drenching rain. The rain date for each tour is the next day (Sunday) at the same time. If the tour takes place on Sunday OR entire weekend is rained out - please re-register for the next available tour.
Meet at "THE WAGON" by the central parking area of Westmoor Park.
