2025 TREE TOUR SCHEDULE (GUIDED)
2025 Guided Tree Tours will be conducted in all four seasons.
Tours are conducted by Tree Naturalist Bill Gleason (known as "Tree Man" from a 2024 West Hartford Life article), Park Naturalist Doug Jackson, and Master Gardener Zack Vose.
Each tour is different - we explore different sections of the Arboretum and highlight specific, seasonal tree activity.

EARLY FALL TOUR #523710A
Different species begin to change color at different times during the Fall. The early Fall Tour highlights these changes and explains how and why deciduous (trees with leaves) typically drop all their leaves every Fall. Tree naturalist Bill Gleason.

Predicting Peak Foliage at Westmoor Park (or anywhere) to a certain date is tricky but it usually starts within this general time period. Regardless of timing, this is a spectacular time to visit the Arboretum and Park with multiple highlights to see. Bring your phone or camera for photos. Tree naturalist Bill Gleason.

PEAK FALL II (523710C)
Some of our most spectacular Fall trees turn "late" (Sourwood, Sugar Maple, Kentucky Coffee Tree) and this is the general time they change. Peak foliage is fleeting in any year, but there's tons to see even on both sides of prime time. In any case, be prepared for a wonderful show of vibrant Fall color and great Fall photos. WHERE TO MEET, WEATHER
We conduct the tours regardless of the weather EXCEPT in the case of drenching rain. The rain date for each tour is the next day (Sunday) at the same time. If the tour takes place on Sunday OR entire weekend is rained out - please re-register for the next available tour.
Meet at "THE WAGON" by the central parking area of Westmoor Park.
